Event - Global Experts Convene in Malmö to Champion Gender Equality in the Blue Economy

Research - The WMU-Sasakawa Global Ocean Institute hosted the third annual meeting of the High Level Advisory Group.

Seminar - The objective of the seminar was to qualify and update the participants on regulations, routines and best practices in their duties related to maritime security.

Collaboration - The IMO e-learning course on Ballast Water Management (BWM) and Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement was launched on 26 June during the Technical Cooperation Committee meeting (TC74).

Collaboration - WMU contributed to the Fourth Blue Economy Roundtable convened by the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Commission in St. Lucia.

Event - The hybrid session, titled “Ratification of the BBNJ Agreement from a SIDS Perspective: The Ireland WMU-GOI BBNJ Clinic Roundtable” focused on issues pertaining to the ratification and implementation of the BBNJ Agreement.

Event - A total of 73 students graduated from the MSc specializations in China bringing the total number to 1,317 graduates since inception of the programmes in 2005.
