Collaboration - The Fund’s function remains the support of Swedish students at WMU to the benefit of the Swedish maritime sector.

Visit - Mr. Andreas Carlson, Minister for Infrastructure and Housing of Sweden, was welcomed to the World Maritime University (WMU) by Professor Maximo Q. Mejia, Jr., President of WMU.

Event - A delegation from the World Maritime University - Sasakawa Global Ocean Institute (WMU-GOI) team hosted and contributed to a series of ocean literacy and capacity development activities in Tokyo, Japan.

Research - WMU hosted the 3rd workshop on Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated (IUU) fishing as part of the CAPFISH research project.

Event - WMU delivered the world's first, full-scale Train-the-Trainer programme on Alternative Fuels for Sustainable Shipping at MTCC Asia headquarters in Shanghai, China.

Event - The overall aim of the WMU Maritime Affairs Conference 2025 was to share knowledge, fostering mutual understanding and generating both practical and academic insights that can be shared across the global maritime community.
